America Has Voted: The Best, Worst Celebrity Neighbors of 2014 Are…

Living next-door to a celebrity may be a fantasy for some, but whoever that star neighbor might be largely depends, according to the latest Zillow (NASDAQ: Z) Celebrity Neighbor Survey, which ranked the best and worst celebrity neighbors of 2014.

Now in its eight year, the annual survey asks U.S. adults which celebrities they would most like to be their neighbor, and those with whom they would not want to share a fence. For this survey, Zillow polled a sample of 1,005 randomly-selected adults aged 18 and older.

For the second year in a row, comedian and late-night show host Jimmy Fallon was a top choice for a celebrity neighbor, earning 10% of the total votes, down from 11% last year. The Tonight Show host’s popularity was higher among voters with kids (14%) than those without (8%).

“Jimmy Fallon..had an incredibly successful first year on ‘The Tonight Show,’ is well-liked by Americans and carries a positive, relatable vibe,” said Zillow Chief Marketing Officer Amy Bohutinsky. “Plus who wouldn’t want to live next to someone who makes you laugh?”

Joining Fallon on the most desirable list, country music couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were a close second place with 9% of the votes—favored more by females (12%) than make voters (6%), according to Zillow.

While 36% of voters chose “none of the above” for their celebrity neighbors, other stars viewed favorably included Taylor Swift (7%), Matthew McConaughey (7%), Neil Patrick Harris (6%), George Clooney and wife Amal Alamuddin (4%), along with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis (4%). Only 6% of voters selected “other.”

Meanwhile, the least desirable neighbor of 2014 was pop star Justin Bieber, who raked in 34% of total votes. The Biebz, who earned the highest percentage of votes in the survey’s history, was deemed undesirable by a little more than one in three voters, an increase from 16% last year.

Bieber, who has had his share of run-ins with the law this past year, earned his spot among voters presumably due to his conduct.

“No one wants to live on the same street as someone accused of reckless driving or egging neighboring homes, which is likely why Bieber received the highest percentage of ‘worst’ votes in survey history,” said Bohutinsky.

Last year’s worst neighbors, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, pulled in enough votes to claim the number two spot behind Biebz with 22% of total votes. In last year’s survey, 25% of voters said Kim and Kanye were undesirable neighbor material.

Other notable celebrities on the worst neighbors list included Miley Cyrus (10%), Donald Trump (5%), Alec Baldwin (3%), Taylor Swift (3%) and Gwyneth Paltrow (2%). Those who voted “other” comprised 2% of total votes, while 14% chose that they wouldn’t want to live next to any of the celebrities listed in the poll.
