Soldier finds lack of housing options for disabled vets

After a soldier, who is now confined to a wheelchair, wrote to housing columnist Lew Sichelman, suggesting the market lacks for homes that are suitable for injured veterans, Sichelman drafted this response.

Sichelman ran through a list of the housing initiatives that are now available to help American soldiers who have been injured while serving in the military.

His response highlights the fact that even with all of the programs, veterans are 50% more likely to be homeless when compared to the average American, and one in six homeless individuals is a veteran.

You can read the full exchange here, which lists some of the industry’s current housing programs for veterans.
