Fannie Mae released loan-level data for newly issued single-family mortgage-backed securities this week.

The government-sponsored enterprise said in January it would offer investors loan-level data on MBS each quarter with monthly updates.

Fannie is hosting the data files on PoolTalk, the firm’s online disclosure application. Investors can directly access information on mortgage securities through the website.

“We believe that disclosing loan-level data is an important step toward meeting our investors desire for enhanced transparency,” said Laura Simmons, vice president MBS disclosure policy and operations. “In subsequent releases, we expect to be able to provide additional data elements in the loan-level at issuance file and provide monthly updates to the loan-level data.”
