Calling it home to the future, KB Home is now selling its first model ZeroHouse 2.0 home design in the Washington D.C. area to help homeowners reduce their net energy expenses.
The energy-efficient model is now being sold in the Middletown Woods community located in Waldorf, MD. Eventually, the builder will offer net-zero energy home plans at all of its communities in the greater Washington D.C. area.
KB Home says the home can save owners on 50,000 gallons of water each year and cut annual energy expenses by $6,000.
Electric bills also can be monitored and controlled from the homeowner’s iPhone.
