Foreign investor interest peaks in Treasury bonds

Foreign investors appeared to show less interest in investing money directly into the U.S. economy in the first quarter, yet they were more inclined to invest in Treasury bonds, the Wall Street Journal writes.

Foreign direct investment slipped to $22.8 billion in the first three months of the year, compared with $42.3 billion in the fourth quarter, mainly because of lower equity investment from overseas, the Commerce Department said Friday.
