Gross purchases of mortgage-backed securities rose, hitting $17 billion this week, up from last week, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Meanwhile, the central bank sold $800 million of its agency MBS.
Additionally, the net purchases of agency MBS amounted to $16.2 billion for the same time period, up from last week.
