Grandbridge Real Estate Capital names new president

Also appoints new members to its executive team

Grandbridge Real Estate Capital recently announced the appointment of Matthew Rocco to company president, as well as the appointments of John Randall, Joe Lovell, Dan Husak and Jon Boone to senior leadership positions.

Grandbridge Board Chairman and CEO Thomas Dennard said Rocco brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position.

“His leadership skills and commercial real estate finance background are tremendous assets to the company as we continue to grow and expand both our loan product offerings and staffing nationwide.” Dennard stated.

Rocco joined Gandbridge in 1988 as a member of its senior leadership team and risk committee board of managers.

Notably, Rocco is an advisory member to many of the nation's “largest institutional investors and capital correspondents,” according to the company.

In his new position, Rocco will continue to oversee the company’s national loan origination program as its national production manager. However, he is now responsible for all loan origination efforts and the agency underwriting and balance sheet closing groups.

Furthermore, Rocco will lead a team of executives, including Executive Vice President and Director of Agency Production Frank Guzikowski, Senior Vice President and Legal/Closing Manager Brett Blackwood and Senior Vice President and Deputy National Production Manager John Randall, according to the company.

Prior to joining Grandbridge in June of last year, Randall held a position at EverBank where he led all real estate production and managed all aspects of commercial real estate finance and mortgage banking. Now at Grandbridge, Randall will be expected to oversee 21 of the company’s loan origination offices.

Company veteran Lovell was appointed to the position of chief operating officer. In this role he will manage over 100 associates and oversee corporate initiatives for Grandbridge and its subsidiary, BB&T Real Estate Funding. Lovell will also lead asset management, operations, business systems/IT and third-party loan closing, according to the company.

Boone was appointed to the position of senior vice president and head of asset management, where he will continue to lead a team of more than 70 real estate professionals and managing $29 billion portfolio consisting of 3,700 loans. However, his duties have now expanded to include the corporate projects and direct reports.

Notably, Boone is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and serves as Grandbridge's Fannie Mae chief asset manager and the Freddie Mac chief servicing officer and is a member of the senior leadership team.

Husak brings more than 25 years of commercial loan serving experience to his new position as head of business systems and corporate operations. In this role his responsibilities include managing the consolidated cash, investor reporting and accounting, and business systems/IT groups.
