Wells Fargo (WFC) named Charles Silverman as head of Global Financial Institutions. The GFI division is part of Wells Fargo’s International Group, and provides banking services to banks and multilateral organizations around the world. Silverman succeeds Michael Heavener, who retired Sept. 1. Since 2008, when Wells acquired Wachovia, Silverman served as executive vice president and area head for GFI Product Distribution and Network Services. In 1988, Silverman worked at the Philadelphia National Bank, where he led global payments sales for GFI, Asian Branch sales and marketing based in Hong Kong. He also chaired the Bankers Assoication for Finance & Trade in Washington, D.C. Wells Fargo said last week it is standing by its accuracy on foreclosure affidavits amid the recent robo-signing scandal. Write to Christine Ricciardi.
