100 terabytes. That’s a whole lot of data, any way you slice it. So while it isn’t exactly industry news, we noticed Thursday that Safeguard Properties, a huge player in the field services side of the default industry, had gotten pretty serious with their data storage technology. A press release from FalconStor Software, Inc. touted the property perservation giant’s implementation of a network storage server that helps the company process more than half a million photos and documents each week. Want a proxy for where foreclosures might go next? Michael Manley, CIO at Safeguard, said the company anticipates needing an additional 40 percent in storage capacity this year alone. It’s not a perfect proxy, but still, it’s telling.
