Navigating all the legal issues surrounding foreclosures has grown exponentially more difficult in the past few years. Since 2008, changing regulations, new foreclosure requirements, moratoriums and laws mandating certain loss-mitigation requirements have challenged attorneys working in the creditor’s rights space. HousingWire recently met with two default attorneys while attending The Default Attorney Group’s 5th Annual Real Estate Default Symposium in Dallas-Fort Worth this week. Howard Crane with Fein Such and Mike Woods with Potestivo & Associates — said attorneys and servicers have been on the right track for a while, but even still, they remain challenged by all constant regulatory changes and unknowns.
