DBRS, a global rating agency, hired Mike Babick as senior vice president of the Structured Finance Group which oversees and rates residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, covered bonds and consumer lending, among other things. Babick serves as a lead analyst in the the Asset-Backed Securities Group. He reports directly to Claire Mezzanotte, head of the U.S. and European ABS, RMBS and Covered Bonds Group. Prior to joining DRBS, Babick worked a managing director of consumer asset-backed securities at Assured Guaranty Corp. where he originated and analyzed consumer ABS for auto-finance and credit cards. Babick’s analytics experience extends more than a decade and includes positions held at Ambac Assurance, Fitch Ratings, Metropolitan Life Insurance and Chase Manhattan Bank. DBRS is a global rating agency that rates more than 1,000 companies and single-purpose vehicles that issues commercial paper, term debt, and preferred shares in the global apical markets.
