ReverseVision Conference Nets Sales Interest, New Approach

The success of an inaugural conference hosted by reverse mortgage origination platform ReverseVision will encourage the company to host a second conference next year. 

With about 160 attendees gathering for the conference in San Diego in late January, ReverseVision says it was encouraged by the interest among participants for new sales tools and approaches, some of which the company debuted and demonstrated during the conference sessions. 

Sixty-seven different companies were represented, including both lenders and brokers, with representation from four of the top five lenders in the industry and feedback from attendees that indicated many are interested in attending a second conference. 

“Overall, the feedback was very positive,” says Wendy Peel, vice president of sales/marketing for ReverseVision, of survey data gathered from attendees following the conference. “Everybody who responded to our survey found that our direction was 100% relevant and believed we had a true understanding of their challenges, as well as the team in place to educate on the sales and marking perspective.” 

ReverseVision recently rolled out a new sales-focused tool that is offered in tandem with its original RVX product. The new tool, RV Sales Accelerator, was demonstrated during the event to show originators how they can better leverage ReverseVision’s sales offerings.

Work with financial planners was also a cornerstone of the conference material, with financial planning figurehead Jamie Hopkins serving as the keynote speaker, and several sessions focused on financial planning. 

Ultimately, Peel says, the focus is on growing industry volume. While ReverseVision will always be focused on the nuts and bolts of the reverse mortgage process, its approach has expanded to support the industry from a growth standpoint. 

“RVX was the factory; the things you needed to process a loan,” Peel says. “…[we express] our sincere gratitude for how well embraced we have been in shifting from the nuts and bolts to really letting us talk about sales and how to drive loan volume.”

Given the new approach and positive reaction to its first conference, ReverseVision sees room for more gatherings of this kind. 

“We are absolutely going to do another conference,” Peel says. “We are already taking about the venue and where we want it to be.”

Hints point to San Diego in 2017.
