Reverse Mortgage Newcomer RFS Hires Behnke, Entrekin to Executive Team

On the heels of announcing its entry into the reverse mortgage business this week, newcomer Retirement Funding Solutions, spearheaded by former Security One exec Torrey Larsen, has announced two new hires to its leadership team.

RFS, a division of Synergy One Lending, has hired David Entrekin and Rhiannon Behnke as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner, respectively.

In his operations role, Entrekin will be responsible for oversight of both operations and credit. He brings a history of growing businesses, including past work with Security One Lending, where he served as Chief Credit Officer from 2010 to 2014.

“The corporate culture at Retirement Funding is appealing to me,” Entrekin said in a statement. “The organization and its leaders believe in operating values that are aligned with my own personal values, which is fulfilling. Additionally, the firm has experience in managing through rapid growth without sacrificing its customer service standards. I’m extremely excited about working with such a proven and dynamic team of industry leaders.”

Behnke, who also brings years of experience in the reverse mortgage industry, began as one of the first full-time employees for Security One in early 2007. She also led its charitable arm, Community One.

In her role as Managing Partner for RFS, Behnke will be responsible for the company’s third-party originations (TPO) business and expects to account for 40% of the firm’s volume at year-end 2015. RFS says it will be “highly selective” in its partnerships with brokers and bankers, and will work with them on strategic marketing plans following the implementation of financial assessment this year.

“The opportunity for me to build again with such a well-known and respected team of leaders is perfect at this stage of my career,” Behnke said. “The reverse mortgage business has changed so much during the past three years, and it is the opportune time to help other brokerage firms succeed in this environment. I look forward to this next run.”
