Investors in single-family homes such as private equity giant Blackstone Group (BX) are trying to get the first real estate-owned-to-rental asset-backed securities deal off the ground. 

However, credit rating agencies are concerned about how a potential bankruptcy would affect ratings on the emerging asset class.
