Nash to replace Walsh at OCC

Paul Nash, currently deputy to the chairman for external affairs at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, will succeed John Walsh as the senior deputy comptroller and chief of staff at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Walsh has announced he will retire this summer, and Nash will begin effective May 21.

“For six and a half years, John has been a mainstay of the OCC’s Executive Committee,” said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry. “He also admirably served for 18 months as Acting Comptroller during a particularly challenging time for the agency. Since I joined the OCC last month, John has been an incredible source of information and advice to me.”

In his current role at the FDIC, Nash oversees the agency’s Office of Legislative Affairs, the Office of the Ombudsman, and the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion.

Mr. Nash received a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1992 and BA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in International Relations and History in 1988. He and his wife Michelle live in Fairfax with their four children.
