In Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, a 15,950-square-foot luxury mansion — nicknamed the Kentucky Mansion — is creating some buzz.

The owner of the French chateau-themed residence remains unknown, but has certainly piqued the curiosity of nearby residents, as well as interior designers and custom homebuilders. 

Tim Burks, the custom homebuilder working on the mansion, said the owner requested a home that felt as if it was a centuries-ago French estate. A large lake was created in front of the home that includes a hand-laid arched stone monument wall to create a moat effect.

The interior features opulent crown molding and original, elegantly designed wood treatments.

A European infinity pool and pool house can be seen through cathedral arch stone doorways. The centerpiece casino room features a 20-foot round bar. The over-indulgent theater room rivals any film director’s private screening room in Hollywood, a press release says. 

The home’s project manager, Linda Cochran, noted, “This home has indeed been one of the most spectacular projects many of our craftsmen have been involved in during their careers. I’d say that the feeling of pride is tangible.”

The classically inspired home is expected to be completed in time for the May 2012 Northern Kentucky Cavalcade of Homes.

Grace Jones, interior designer of Dwellings, observed that “this project has been the dream of any designer.”
