Nationstar’s executive vice president of default servicing resigns

Robert Appel, executive vice president of default servicing for Nationstar Mortgage Holdings, resigned from the company, according to a securities filing.

Appel’s resignation takes effect on March 31.

Appel joined the company in February 2008, according to the firm’s website. Since then, he has managed all loan servicing activities related to Nationstar’s mortgage loan portfolio.

Prior to joining Nationstar five years ago, Appel served Capstead Mortgage, where he served as senior vice president of default management for the primary servicer, the website said.

He also served as managing director of GMAC’s master servicing operation in 1999.

The SEC filing does not elaborate on Appel’s departure. It states, that Appel “informed Nationstar of his resignation from all positions with Nationstar and its subsidiaries and affiliates,” on March 19.
