Generation Mortgage Expands Retail Sales Team With New Hires

Top-10 reverse mortgage lender Generation Mortgage Company has expanded its retail sales team with the addition of two new loan officers, Laura Bopp and Sean Reese.

Bopp now represents the reverse mortgage lender—ranked sixth in terms of loan volume, according to Reverse Market Insights—in Colorado, while Reese will work out of Iowa.

“At Generation, we are working to expand our sales team by adding talented professionals who possess significant mortgage industry experience as well as a passion for helping seniors,” said Generation’s Chief Sales Officer Cheryl MacNally in a statement. “Laura and Sean each bring both of these qualities to their respective geographic areas, and we look forward to their contributions toward our sales team’s success.”

Bopp’s industry experience includes six years with home equity conversion mortgage products and 11 years with conventional and non-conventional mortgage loans. Prior to joining Generation, she worked with several HECM lenders, including Urban Financial Group, Genworth Financial, and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

Reese joins Generation from Wells Fargo, where he held roles of home preservation specialist, home renovation specialist, and reverse mortgage consultant. Prior to Wells Faro, Reese owned his own business, Iowa Notary and Closing, which specialized in conversion mortgage closings. He also served as regional sales manager for E&P Automotive. However, much of his 18-year career has focused on loan origination, including tenures at Midwest Heritage Bank, Essential Mortgage, and Kramer Mortgage.

As of Reverse Market Insight’s October 2013 HECM Lenders overview, Generation owned 4.4% of the reverse mortgage market share with 2,294 loans endorsed year-to-date.
