The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart poked fun at the outcry against President Obama’s recess appointment of Richard Cordray to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in a show that ran late last week.
“What did he do that was so wrong?” Stewart asks. “That’s use of power!” he says of Obama’s appointment.

A series of clips from Republican leaders opposed to the recess appointment quote those leaders as saying the action was “an unprecedented power grab” and “abuse of power.” But, Stewart argues by presenting a clip of a recent congressional session lasting roughly 30 seconds, “Did I miss it? It’s a congressional session, it’s not like a shooting star…”
