Single-family house and condo sales in Connecticut rose by double-digit percentages in October from the previous year, according to real estate information provider The Warren Group. Single-family house sales rose 11.5% over October 2008, while condo sales rose 10.2% during the same period — the first year-on-year increase in monthly sales in more than three years. Middlesex, Windham and Fairfield counties experienced the largest increases in house sales activity during the month, The Warren Group found. Sales rose 46.7%, 23.8% and 19.4% respectively in the counties. Prices remain depressed below year-ago levels, despite the uptick in sales volume. The median price for single-family homes slipped 4.4% in October to $239,000, while the median price for condos dipped 5.3% to $180,000. Write to Diana Golobay.
