Church foreclosures sold at record numbers

Banks sold a record number of foreclosed churches in 2011, as they grew more reluctant to grant religious groups forbearance, according to Reuters.

Tim Reid writes 138 churches were sold last year, far more than the 24 churches sold in 2008. The foreclosures cut across demoninations, with a high percentage in California, Georgia, Florida and Michigan.
