Reverse mortgage subservicer Celink went to Chicago last weekend to show support for a team of veterans participating in the 26.2-mile race.
As a sponsor of the Wounded Warriors of the Achilles Freedom Team that competed on Sunday October 7, Celink CEO John LaRose and his wife, Tara, headed to the finish line to greet the team members personally.
LaRose, a veteran himself, says he was touched by the experience of being able to show such support as a company.
“As a Vietnam Veteran, former runner and proud American, I count the moments in Chicago and sponsorship of the Achilles heroes among the greatest gifts my company has given me,” LaRose said.
Achilles International helps those with disabilities compete in mainstream athletic events, Bank of America Chicago Marathon included.
“Being able to compete in this world-class marathon helps the veterans and their families see that they have a bright future ahead of them despite their devastating injuries,” said Janet Patton, director of communications for Achilles. “Celink’s continuous support and encouragement was instrumental in allowing this team of heroes to set and fulfill an achievable goal as they continue with their recovery and rehabilitation.”
