My favorite part of the conference was the different breakout sessions that were offered. While I didn’t get the chance to see all of them I found one imperticular very interesting and that was "Online Marketing Strategies for Reverse Mortgage Loan Originators". Of all the breakout sessions I went to this was the most crowded, so it was obvious that originators are interested in the topic. If you havent started marketing your reverse mortgage business on the Internet you need to start planning now. To help, I’m planning to do a follow up post on this topic in the near future to go over some of the points that were discussed by the panelists which should help everyone who didnt get to participate. I also need to say "thank you" to Greg Hayes from Liberty Reverse Mortgage for mentioning how great of a resource RMD is… little did he know that I was in the room.
Another aspect of the conference that I found interesting was the diversity of companies in attendance. The crowd was full of industry veterans to individuals with no reverse mortgage experience that were looking to get their first introduction into the business. You had small reverse mortgage companies like ours meeting with Wall Street heavyweights and all sorts of technology and other service providers pushing the latest and greatest in reverse mortgage services.
