This summer, 60% of homeowners plan to make a home improvement or addition to their residences, according to the Zillow Digs Summer Home Improvement Trend and Spending Survey.
Zillow’s survey provides insight into the demographic and household characteristics of homeowners and what type of projects they have in mind.
Homes without children and those aged 55 and older plan to spend an average of $1,000 on home renovation projects this summer, compared to the $1,500 households with children are looking to spend.
On average, homeowners participating in Zillow’s survey said they intend to spend an average of $1,200 on summer home improvement projects this summer.
The most popular renovation areas for homeowners were outdoor spaces and bathrooms, representing 40% and 17% of respondents’ intentions.
