Tennekoon Resigns from Position at Urban Financial Group

Urban Financial Group announced this week in an email to employees that Sandy Tennekoon has resigned from her position as assistant vice president of wholesale for the Tulsa, Okla.-based company.

Tennekoon had been with the company for more than 10 years and was instrumental in building the company’s wholesale business. Tennekoon resigned to spend more time with her family and explore other career options, according to the notice sent to employees.

“We wish her the best and know that we owe her a debt of gratitude for all her hard work and diligent loyalty to Urban,” said Sherry Apanay, managing director of sales for Urban Financial in the email obtained by RMD. “She will be greatly missed.”

For the time being, Apanay will take over managing Urban’s wholesale account executives.

Urban Financial group runs its wholesale operation through the Reverseit brand, which is the largest wholesale lender according to data from Reverse Market Insight.

The company has gone through several changes, most recently hiring Apanay and Kristen Sieffert.
