Mahwah, N.J.-based reverse mortgage lender Nationwide Equities has recently hired Rosina Romano to serve as head of operations, according to a release the company sent RMD.
Overseeing all aspects of the loan process, Romano will be tasked with ensuring that customer service levels are maintained or improved as the company strives for growth.
“We are looking to expand several of our sales distribution channels and that means beefing up the support area,” said Nationwide Equities President Glenn Wallace in a written statement. “Ms. Romano is just the leader we need to help us make the transition from a boutique lender to a major retail shop.”
Romano’s professional record includes more than 20 years of mortgage industry experience, and even serving as Mayor of the Township of South Hackensack, N.J. in 2008-2009.
In the mortgage field, Romano’s area of expertise is in the closing and title side of the business, also serving as a production manager for several years.
“Rosina’s temperament and experience with dealing with difficult issues will make the difference in keeping Nationwide at the top when it comes to service,” commented Phil Parziale, chief operating officer at Nationwide, who has known Romano for 15 years and worked with her in the past.
Nationwide Equities ranked as a top-10 reverse mortgage lender with 159 Home Equity Conversion Mortgage endorsements year-to-date through February, reflecting a 92% increase year-over-year, according to the most recent industry data tracked by Reverse Market Insight.
