The company takes its name from a famed Siberian Husky who led a team of sled dogs on the final leg of a serum run to Nome, Alaska in which diphtheria antitoxin was transported from Anchorage to Nenana by train, before going on to Nome via dog sled to combat a diphtheria outbreak in 1925.
