UBS attempts to alleviate mortgage bond deal

UBS AG (UBS) is reportedly in settlement talks with the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission to settle allegations that the bank defrauded investors in a mortgage bond deal that soured during the financial crisis. 

The SEC’s investigation focuses on the sale of more than $748 million in notes tied to a collateralized debt obligation the bank created in 2007.
