At a time when many retiring baby-boomers are considering reverse mortgages, a Money Magazine article on the CNNMoney website dares to ask whether the proposition of using home equity as cash is really safe for senior citizens.

The writer Beth Braverman goes beyond the basic coverage of the product and asks her readers whether “borrowers who take the loan too soon, or spend the payout too quickly, could end up without a source of equity to fall back on — and might even lose their homes.”

Braverman also covers the advantages and benefits of a reverse mortgage.
