Reverse Mortgage Funding, the company launched in 2013 and led by several former MetLife reverse mortgage execs and industry veterans today announced the hire of Richard Thorpe as sales channel leader for RMF’s distributed retail strategy.
Thorpe, who brings more than two decades of mortgage experience spanning several years of reverse mortgage work, most previously served as vice president of the East Coast territory for Security One Lending. Prior to his work with S1L, he was northeast area sales manager for MetLife’s reverse mortgage division and served as national sales manager for EverBank Reverse Mortgage.
In his new role implementing retail sales strategy, Thorpe will report to RMF President David Peskin.
“This will be a key initiative for us,” said Peskin. “Richard is a great hire for us and he adds another strong leader as we continue to grow. He brings with him 23 years in the mortgage industry, with the last nine in the reverse mortgage space, so he understands this business extremely well and has a strong record of success.”
RMF has ramped up its team since launching in mid-2013 and most recently has spearheaded the introduction of a new fixed rate reverse mortgage with all payment plan options available to borrowers.
The company is continuing to grow its team in its New York- and New Jersey-based headquarters as well as nationwide.
