NRMLA Names New President, Board Members

In addition to naming incoming board members for the upcoming annual term, the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA) announced an executive leadership change Tuesday, naming former executive vice president Steve Irwin as president of the association.

NRMLA Founder Peter Bell, who has long served the organization as President and CEO, will remain CEO of the association and will maintain responsibility for its financial operations.

“This is a recognition that is well deserved on [Steve’s] part,” Bell said in addressing attendees of NRMLA’s national convention in Nashville on Tuesday, noting Irwin’s recent activities as EVP as akin to what he will be responsible for in his new role. “He has been [serving in] this role for a few years now.”

Bell founded NRMLA roughly 20 years ago and has since served as president and CEO. The association is managed by Washington, D.C.-based association management company Dworbell, also founded by Bell, which manages several associations.

NRMLA leadership also elected its incoming board during the meeting, under the leadership of co-chairs Scott Norman of Finance of America Reverse, and Reza Jahangiri of American Advisors Group.

In addition to re-elected board members, new directors elected to the 2019-2020 fiscal year include Laura Cullen of Longbridge Financial, Kevin Gherardi of Reverse Technology Group, Tim Isgro of Reverse Mortgage Funding, Jay Jones of Mr. Cooper and Rick Lieber of AAG.
