Get ready to share the airwaves, Fred Thompson and Robert Wagner—there’s a new reverse mortgage spokesman in town, and he’s about to appear on TV screens nationwide. Security One Lending (S1L) says the company has wrapped production with recently chosen spokesman Pat Boone for its national TV spots, which will air starting in August.
Boone was chosen, says S1L, because of his recognizability in the senior demographic. In addition to his status as 10th best-selling artist of all time, Boone is known for his acting and entertainment gigs and his political endorsements.
“We believe the addition of Pat Boone to the Security One Team is a tremendous opportunity for the company to reach the senior demographic. Mr. Boone is readily recognized by seniors and has a great reputation,” said Tony Gaglione, S1L’s executive vice president. “The character and reputation of Mr. Boone made it a very simple decision, as these traits fall right in line with the company’s ‘core values.’ Ultimately, Mr. Boone will assist Security One Lending in becoming a trusted brand.”
The decision to sign 77-year-old Boone comes a year after American Advisors Group brought on actor Fred Thompson as a spokesman last May. Boone, who has previously been contracted to endorse General Motors, says he considers reverse mortgage products as important tools for seniors’ financial planning.
“My objective is to assist Security One Lending in an effort to reach and educate seniors about the benefits of reverse mortgages so that they are able to make better informed financial decisions. In my research on Security One Lending, it became apparent that their core values are actually an integral part of their culture and resulting success,” Boone said.
