Nationstar Mortgage Appoints New Compliance, Originations Execs

Major mortgage servicer Nationstar, which operates a substantial reverse mortgage servicing division, has announced the appointment of two new executives to its leadership; both in its originations and compliance divisions.

The company today announced it has hired Steve Covington as Chief Compliance Officer and Tony Ebers as Executive Vice President of Originations.

Nationstar previously operated a reverse mortgage origination division through its acquisition of Greenlight Financial in 2013; the company later wound down the reverse channel but maintained a reverse mortgage servicing portfolio of roughly $30 billion in unpaid principal balance.

The new executives bring longtime mortgage experience with Covington having held positions spanning risk management and compliance with Morgan Stanley, Fleet Mortgage Corp. and first Horizon Home Loans. Ebers brings experience spanning roles as originations division president at ServiceLink and as executive vice president of mortgage lending and servicing at OneWest.

“We are excited to have Steve and Tony join Nationstar and strengthen our leadership team. Steve’s extensive experience in risk management and compliance in the mortgage industry will be an asset to Nationstar as we continue to strive to become the most compliant servicer in the industry,” said Nationstar Chief Executive Officer Jay Bray. “Tony has been an origination industry leader for more than two decades and we look forward to him capitalizing on the significant opportunities within our servicing portfolio while building on our strong origination results from the first half of 2015.”
