More job cuts coming to Morgan Stanley

Investment bank Morgan Stanley will shrink its staff by another 1,000 workers this year due to weak overall economic growth, Reuters reported.

The investment bank saw a steep drop in its second-quarter revenue and plans to reduce staffing levels by 7% from December 2011 levels, the news agency said.

Low trading activity and lower dealmaking volumes also are stalling the bank’s growth.
