Legacy Reverse Mortgage Shifts Executive Roles

Jim Cory has moved into the position of Legacy Reverse Mortgage CEO, from his previous role as company president. Legacy says it sees the transition as a way to strengthen its executive team and manage industry growth.

Cory has 12 years of reverse mortgage industry experience, and has served at Fannie Mae and as vice chairman on the ethics committee of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA). He has also served on NRMLA’s board of directors since July 2010.

“Legacy has reached significant milestones in delivering on our promise to our customers to exceed the industry’s highest ethical standards, offer the best overall quality in home financing options for seniors, and develop and nurture the relationships between our company and those we serve,” Cory said. He is expected to focus efforts on refining and executing Legacy’s long-term strategy, and will be responsible for the company’s departmental organizations. He will also look to improve and define customer relations, focus on branding and Legacy’s marketing efforts, including social media presence.

Todd Ausherman has assumed the position of president and chief operating officer at San Diego-based Legacy. Ausherman worked previously overseeing the company’s sales team and pipeline management. He will now take control of Legacy’s day-to-day operations, according to the company.
