HUD shields Oklahoma homeowners from foreclosure in tornadoÕ wake

It’s been well over a month since a tornado devastated parts of Oklahoma.

Homeowners in the region are now receiving aid in the form of more time before an official foreclosure proceeding can be brought on their homes, the Oklahoman reports.

Apparently, the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department declared that FHA-insured properties cannot enter into foreclosure proceedings for 90 days once a presidential disaster declaration is made.

President Obama declared a disaster in six separate Oklahoma counties.
