Generation Mortgage Wins Local Business Awards

Top-ten reverse mortgage lender Generation Mortgage Company has won two 2013 Torch Awards from the Better Business Bureau Serving Metro Atlanta, Athens, & Northeast Georgia.

The Georgia-headquartered reverse mortgage provider was competing for the awards against other Atlanta-based companies with 100-499 employees and won in the categories of Marketplace Ethics and Community Service. Generation was also named first runner-up in the program’s Customer Service division.

Generation has previously secured Torch Awards in 2011 and 2010 and maintains an A+ accreditation rating from the bureau.

“The Better Business Bureau created its accreditation and awards programs to give consumers peace of mind regarding the products and services supplied by businesses, and in doing so has established itself as the premier evaluator of ethical business practices,” said Generation Mortgage Company President and CEO Colin Cushman in a statement. “At Generation Mortgage, we are committed to having a positive impact on our industry, our customers and our community, and we are extremely proud to have our efforts acknowledged by the Better Business Bureau Serving Metro Atlanta, Athens & Northeast Georgia.”

The annual BBB Torch Awards recognize organizations that contribute to an ethical marketplace by emphasizing honesty, respect, integrity, and transparency in their business activities, with entries evaluated by a three-member judging panel that’s independent of the BBB’s staff and board of directors.

“Generation Mortgage has demonstrated an ongoing dedication to serving its customers and business partners in an ethical and trustworthy manner, and this has led the Better Business Bureau to view it as a role model for other companies—both in the Atlanta area and across the country,” said BBB Serving Metro Atlanta, Athens & Northeast Georgia President and CEO Fred T. Elsberry, Jr. “The Torch Awards are designed to celebrate companies that are raising the bar when it comes to business ethics, and we are thrilled to recognize Generation Mortgage’s commitment to Marketplace Ethics, Community Service and Customer Service.”
