The SOC 1 certification for process servers who deliver foreclosure notices and other mortgage-related documents is not an industry standard today.

However, Firefly Legal, a process serving company in Chicago, believes with compliance on everyone’s mind, this certification may be required of all process servers in the future as regulations tighten over the legal process industry.

Firefly voluntarily went through a security, processing and confidentiality audit to obtain the certification.

“We need to provide our clients with a higher level of confidence. They need to know, without a doubt, that any work placed in Firefly’s hands is handled with the utmost in security and protection,” said Firefly’s legal founder Ken McMaster.
