AAG Spotlights Retirement Planning in New Reverse Mortgage TV Ads

Next month, American Advisors Group (AAG) will launch its newest television commercial campaign featuring former U.S. Senator and national spokesman Fred Thompson, emphasizing the role of reverse mortgages in retirement planning. [View the commercials here.]

The TV spots, which AAG will roll out May 4, will be accompanied by a newly developed information pack and DVD for seniors, their adult children and caregivers.

The information materials not only incorporate the most recent changes to the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) program, but also include a new reverse mortgage retirement planner guide, which Thompson says, explains the many ways a reverse mortgage can provide stability and security during retirement.

This focus on using a reverse mortgage as a long-term retirement strategy signals a novel approach in AAG’s marketing efforts, specifically in addressing a growing segment of borrowers who look at reverse mortgages differently than others have in the past, said Teague McGrath, chief creative officer for AAG.

“We’re seeing an influx of senior consumers who are leveraging reverse mortgage loan proceeds during retirement so they can allow their investment portfolios to continue growing for when those funds are needed most,” McGrath said in a written statement.

The commercials will air across cable and national networks including ABC, NBC and CBS.
