For the last 30 years, Joan Rousseau has been in a leadership role at Metro-West Appraisal. A Schoolcraft College alumna with an emphasis on business, Rousseau has spent most of her career focusing on financial operations, human resources and building company culture.
Under Rousseau’s leadership, Metro-West Appraisal has been able to deliver the industry’s fastest appraisals and successfully expand into commercial valuations and real estate inspections.
Since 2012, Rousseau has been the sole owner of the company and just this year earned the company its Women’s Business Enterprise National Council certification as an official women-owned business. As the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and an advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs, the WBENC underscores Metro-West Appraisal’s full-service approach to helping its clients reach their goals while supporting diversity and inclusion.
Rousseau and her husband, Don, share a philanthropic passion and work to support many local and national charities. Some of the organizations that the couple feels the most passionate about include the Children’s Tumor Foundation, the V Foundation, JARC and the National Kidney Foundation.
