Dayton homebuilding activity picks up

New builds increased slightly from last year

Homebuilding in Dayton, Ohio, experienced a slight increase in activity in July when compared to year ago levels, the Dayton Business Journal reported. The business publication made the following observations about local homebuilding activity:

Dayton-area home builders pulled 202 new home residential building permits in July, up 3% from July 2012, according to the Home Builders Association of Dayton.

That’s not as strong an uptick as builders expected, said Walt Hibner, executive director of the HBA Dayton, but activity should continue to rise in the next few months.
