Move, Realtor.com hit by denial of service attack

Websites took forever to load

Online real estate company Move (MOVE) released a statement that it is experiencing a distributed denial of service attack.

As a result, the sites are having massive amounts of traffic to its website, making realtor.com and Top Producer Systems and Move’s other Internet services inaccessible.

Move operates under the National Association of Realtors official website realtor.com.

The company is working quickly to resolve the outages and has no evidence that this attack includes of has resulted in any compromise of data or other content on its website.

The attacks began mid-day Tuesday, and the company is working closely with federal law enforcement to identify the persons responsible for the attack.

Meanwhile, according to an article in Benzinga, one unamed source that is familiar with the matter announced that Trulia (TRLA) could be looking into buying Move. 

Both companies decline to comment on the matter.
