2026 Woman of Influence: Margette Hepfner

Margette Hepfner

Margette Hepfner is president of Housing at Bilt, where she leads the company’s multifamily and mortgage business while helping shape the evolution of its resident loyalty and housing platform. With more than two decades of multifamily leadership experience, she brings operational expertise and technology strategy together to support property owners, operators and residents across the country.

Prior to joining Bilt, Hepfner served as chief operating officer of Willow Bridge Property Company, where she oversaw operations for approximately 227,000 apartment homes and 5,000 employees. That experience continues to inform her work at Bilt, where she helps develop solutions focused on resident engagement, leasing performance and operational efficiency.

Over the past year, Hepfner has led efforts to expand Bilt’s partnerships with multifamily owners and operators while enhancing platform capabilities. She has focused on helping organizations integrate resident rewards, payment technology and engagement tools into existing operational workflows. Her work has also supported the expansion of Bilt’s rent reporting initiatives, helping renters build credit histories and strengthen pathways toward future homeownership.

Hepfner remains active in industry leadership and community service. In 2025, she served as co-chair of Partners Card, a major fundraising initiative supporting The Family Place and its services for survivors of family violence. Through both her professional and philanthropic work, she continues to advocate for stronger communities and improved housing outcomes.

By combining operational expertise, technology innovation and a focus on resident experience, Hepfner has helped influence how multifamily organizations approach engagement, retention and long-term housing solutions.
