Lesley Deutch is managing principal at John Burns Research and Consulting (JBREC), where she advises housing industry leaders on market strategy, investment decisions and growth opportunities across building products, multifamily housing, for-sale housing, high-rise development and single-family rental. With more than 25 years of experience in real estate research and consulting, she serves on the firm’s senior management team while continuing to work directly with clients throughout the country.
Prior to joining JBREC, Deutch worked in the Global Real Estate division of Deutsche Bank and RREEF, where she authored economic research and due diligence reports for major real estate investments. Today, she leads JBREC’s Industrials team, helping clients evaluate market opportunities, mergers and acquisitions and long-term growth strategies.
Over the past year, Deutch has continued to provide research, analysis and consulting services to some of the housing industry’s largest organizations. She has advised executives on transactions, market expansion efforts and strategic planning initiatives while helping lead a consulting practice that completed projects across dozens of markets nationwide. She also remains a regular contributor to industry conversations through the “Dear Consultant” column, which she created to examine emerging housing trends and market developments.
Deutch is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences, delivering presentations on housing market conditions, demographics and economic trends. She is also active with the Urban Land Institute, serves on the University of Miami MRED+U Advisory Board and regularly lectures on real estate demographics. Through her research, consulting and industry leadership, Deutch continues to help shape decision-making across the housing sector.
