Elly Cummings is divisional executive vice president at New American Funding, where she oversees operations across the Great Lakes and Florida regions. With nearly three decades of mortgage industry experience, she leads a division that has continued to expand through a combination of strategic growth, talent development and leadership cultivation.
Over the past year, Cummings helped grow her division to 83 branches while adding new production volume and expanding New American Funding’s presence across multiple markets, including Florida and Puerto Rico. Her leadership approach emphasizes accountability, development and long-term growth, creating a framework that supports both recruitment and the advancement of existing team members.
A major area of focus for Cummings has been leadership development. She has championed NAF Elevate, an internal coaching initiative designed to support professional growth for loan officers, helping expand participation across the organization. She also plays a leading role in Mortgage LeadHERship, a program dedicated to developing and advancing women leaders and originators throughout the company. Through mentorship, coaching and visibility opportunities, she helps create pathways for future leaders at every stage of their careers.
Beyond New American Funding, Cummings is active within the Mortgage Bankers Association and supports industry advocacy efforts through MORPAC and the Mortgage Action Alliance. She also serves on the board of Spare Key, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to families facing medical crises.
