Crystal Raines is president and acting chief operating officer at NewDay USA, where she oversees operational strategy, compliance, underwriting and technology initiatives supporting the company’s mission of serving veterans, active-duty service members and military families. Her career spans nearly two decades with the organization, advancing through leadership positions in underwriting, credit, compliance and operations.
Raines began her mortgage career working in operational roles before progressing through the organization and eventually serving as chief credit officer and chief compliance officer. Her experience across multiple functions provides a broad understanding of lending operations and regulatory requirements, helping inform her leadership approach today.
Over the past year, Raines has helped lead the modernization of NewDay USA’s proprietary loan origination system while supporting the rollout of new lending programs. Among those initiatives was the launch of NewDay Home Advantage, a financing solution designed to help eligible veterans and active-duty service members address closing costs associated with purchasing a home. She also played a key role in coordinating operational, compliance and underwriting teams throughout the implementation process.
