Christy Bunce is president of New American Funding, where she oversees the company’s growth strategy, operations and technology initiatives across one of the nation’s largest independent mortgage lenders. During a challenging mortgage market, Bunce led significant expansion efforts while continuing to invest in technology, customer experience and homeownership opportunities for underserved communities.
Over the past year, Bunce guided New American Funding through a period of substantial growth, expanding the company to more than 5,300 employees across 308 locations while increasing funded loan volume and maintaining a servicing portfolio of more than $72 billion. Her leadership centered on aligning sales, finance and technology teams around common goals while supporting the rollout of new platforms and operational improvements across the organization.
Bunce also led several major initiatives designed to strengthen the company’s long-term capabilities. These included the launch of the NAF Tech Ecosystem, the expansion of the company’s internal AI platform and continued investment in NAF Tech India to support innovation and scalability. In addition, she oversaw the launch of NAF Insurance, creating a new line of business that has already served thousands of customers, and helped establish NAF Promises, a nonprofit dedicated to homeownership education and training.
Under Bunce’s leadership, New American Funding increased funded units to diverse homeowners while continuing to receive recognition for customer satisfaction and lending performance. By combining operational discipline, technology investment and a commitment to expanding access to homeownership, Bunce has helped position the company for continued growth while supporting borrowers and communities across the country.
