2026 Woman of Influence: Carolyn Gorman

Carolyn Gorman

Carolyn Gorman is senior vice president and mortgage director at Huntington Bank, where she leads mortgage strategy, production growth and affordable lending initiatives across the company’s expanding footprint. With more than 15 years at Huntington, she has played a key role in building the bank’s mortgage platform while helping advance access to sustainable homeownership for first-time and underserved borrowers.

Over the past year, Gorman guided Huntington’s mortgage business through a period of growth and expansion. While the broader mortgage industry remained relatively flat, Huntington increased purchase volume by 10%, supported by investments in referral partnerships, loan officer development and first-time homebuyer programs. She also helped lead the integration of mortgage operations, technology platforms and sales teams as Huntington expanded following the additions of Cadence Bank and Veritex Community Bank.

A significant focus of Gorman’s leadership has been affordable lending. She oversees initiatives including Home for Good, a mortgage program designed to expand access to homeownership through alternative credit evaluation, flexible underwriting and closing cost assistance. The program has expanded into multiple markets and contributed to Huntington receiving Freddie Mac’s Home Possible RISE Award for excellence in affordable lending.

Beyond her role at Huntington, Gorman serves on the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Board of Governors and is active in community organizations supporting workforce development and economic opportunity. Through her leadership in mortgage banking, affordable housing and community engagement, Gorman continues to help shape strategies that expand access to homeownership while supporting long-term growth across Huntington’s mortgage platform.
