Nithya Sam has become an important product leader behind Dara Core, Sagent’s next-generation servicing system of record. As principal product manager, Sam combines technical depth with strategic focus to help modernize core servicing workflows and ensure they are compliant, configurable and built for today’s regulatory and operational demands.
With a background as a full-stack developer, Sam brings a strong understanding of system architecture to her product leadership. Over the past year, she has led four cross-functional delivery teams focused on building Dara Core, working closely with engineering, design and architecture leaders to drive steady progress across complex servicing domains.
Operating on a two-week sprint cadence, Sam’s teams delivered about three meaningful product features per sprint, resulting in nearly 80 features over the course of the year. These included core servicing functionality across default, delinquency and special loans, each designed to support long-term platform scalability while meeting current regulatory requirements.
Sam is known for leading with clarity, trust and teamwork. Her work sits at the intersection of engineering execution and customer experience, with a focus on building a platform that can operate efficiently at scale for servicers and the homeowners they support. She has helped position Dara Core as a more adaptable and modern servicing platform by solving longstanding pain points with cloud- and AI-native technologies.
Her leadership reflects a broader commitment not only to strong product delivery, but also to helping teams grow while building mortgage servicing technology that is more transparent, flexible and human-centered.
What is one thing you would tell a younger version of yourself?
If Sam could give her younger self a piece of advice, she would express the concept that clarity comes from action. You must look at the bigger picture to formulate your plan toward your end goal, rather than treating each step as a fragmented process. Sam believes that progress happens when you ask better questions and listen deeply to diverse perspectives around you.
Today, she has the opportunity to pass on what she’s learned by mentoring those around her. She finds one of the most valuable, meaningful experiences in her role is mentoring young professionals, especially those transitioning into product roles like she did. Sam feels most accomplished watching those she guides learn to solve complex problems on their own and deepen their self-confidence.
