Dan Miedema is helping drive mortgage innovation at Rate by working at the intersection of technology, marketing and sales. As vice president of Performance Efficiency, Miedema focuses on turning strategy into practical systems that support loan officers, improve customer experience and strengthen cross-functional execution.
Since returning to Rate in April 2025, Miedema has played a central role in aligning product, marketing and sales around shared goals. He is known for diving into strategic initiatives quickly, helping define requirements, accelerate development and evaluate every project through the lens of the loan officer, borrower and internal teams responsible for delivery.
A major focus of his work has been the integration of AI-powered automation into the company’s sales and marketing efforts. These tools are designed to help loan officers reach more customers and referral partners while improving consistency and efficiency across the production process. In late 2025, Miedema helped lead the rollout of Rate Alert, an end-to-end monitoring system that notifies borrowers when they may benefit from refinancing and adjusts their goals after closing.
Miedema’s leadership style centers on ownership, urgency and cross-functional collaboration. He works to bring product, marketing and sales into alignment, helping teams move from abstract strategy to measurable execution. Whether launching automated follow-up systems or building go-to-market frameworks, he focuses on creating solutions that support long-term growth rather than short-term wins.

What is one habit that has helped you succeed?
Never stop learning. Technology, marketing and the mortgage industry encompass so many areas to dig in and evolve. Taking in the perspective of my team members around me and leading by example has allowed me to win together as a team.
